CO₂ immersion linked to lower rates of serious limb complications in circulation studies

Major amputation occurred in two limbs in the control group but in none in the CO2 immersion group, and deep wound infection was observed in 4 limbs in the control group only, suggesting CO2 bath may prevent serious limb complications.

What this means for you

When circulation to the legs and feet is compromised, even small wounds can become serious. Research found that CO₂ immersion was associated with zero major amputations and zero deep wound infections compared to a control group — suggesting it may support the kind of blood flow that keeps peripheral tissue healthier and more resilient.
